AFC hit Leverstock for six

AFC Dunstable enjoyed a fine 6-2 win at home to Leverstock Green in their Molten Spartan SML Premier Division clash on Saturday.

Courtney Massey opened the scoring in the seventh minute with a shot a from distance that found the corner of the net.

The turning point came in the 21st minute when Leverstock were harshly penalised for handball inside the box when Hayden Wills’ shot struck the arm of Tunde Owolabi.

Dale Turney put away the penalty for a 2-0 lead and the third arrived on 23 minutes when Stefan Tracey rounded keeper David Bailey to score.

AFC kept gong as Jonathan Cooper took advantage of a gift to make it 4-0 three, while with half an hour gone, Tracey netted again.

Tobi Akin pulled a goal back for Leverstock in the 33rd minute, while the visitors put in a spirited display after the break, as moments into the second period, Junior Bushiri lobbed keeper Sam Leggit.

Any hopes of an unlikely comeback were extinguished on 53 minutes as Turney was put clean through to make it 6-2.

AFC created plenty more chances as Tracey almost completed his hat-trick but hit the bar.

AFC travel to Haringey on Tuesday night.
