AFC started brightly and Tamera Bayne was sent through clear on goal and was taken out by the on rushing town keeper. The referee had no option but to issue a straight red.

Town then took the lead breaking through the AFC defence to finish coolly past the keeper. Bayne went close two more times for AFC but the replacement keeper was a match for both efforts.

As AFC pressed for the equaliser they were caught short again and Town made it 2-0. The second half was better by AFC as ten player town became tired.

AFC pulled one back as Charlotte South broke through the town defence and lobbed the onrushing keeper after a slide rule pass from Danielle Carty.

Both sides had further chances to score but it was Town who stretched the lead with another well-taken goal. South narrowed the deficit as she curled in a shot from outside the box.

AFC have two home games – on Sunday at 2pm and Wednesday at 7.45pm.
