AFC slip up against London Tigers

AFC Dunstable succumbed to their fifth Molten Spartan SML Premier Division defeat of the season, as London Tigers scored two quality goals to win 2-0 at Creasey Park on Wednesday night.

The home side saw two players returning from injury, as Wayne Mills and Taishan Griffith took their places on the bench, although Matt Langston was injured and the influential Leon Cashman had wok commitments.

Jamie Head deputised for the injured Louis Porcelli in goal, as although the game started in torrential rain, AFC started brightly and had the majority of the possession in the opening exchanges.

A mazy run from Jimmy Hartley saw his striker hit the upright 20 minutes in, but Tigers took the lead with a superb effort from Hesham Benmansour midway through the half.

Manager Steve Heath made some changes at half time as Lorrell Smith and Wayne Mills came on for Jamal Harvey and Enzo Silvestri.

Any hopes of an immediate fight back were dashed three minutes in though as a defence-splitting pass found Benmansour and he lobbed home to make it 2-0.

AFC continued to press but too many passes were misplaced to put any sort of pressure on the Tigers back line who held firm.

AFC travel to Stotfold this weekend.
