All the odds as Hatters visit Mansfield

Town haven't scored in over six hours of football, but did at least pick up a point against Cambridge in Nathan Jones's first game in charge of the Hatters last weekend.

Luton travel to Mansfield this weekend and have every chance of winning their first match of the year given the Stags have a better record on the road than at the One Call Stadium, whilst the Hatters have also picked up more points on their travels (18) than in front of their home supporters (13).

Town are 9/4 to take all three points with Mansfield 5/4 and the draw 5/1 at BetVictor.

Both sides have found the back of the net in the Stags’ last seven fixtures and the recommendation is the 17/20 that both sides score at the weekend.

Luton are too good a side for their scoring drought to continue much longer and a shade of odds is a fair price given you have to go back to early November for the last time Mansfield kept a home clean sheet.

Mick Harford’s return is likely to have given everyone a lift in and around the club.

I was impressed with the passion and energy in the new manager’s programme notes against Cambridge, but now is the time for a good professional performance from the Hatters.

A single Craig Mackail-Smith penalty was the difference between the sides at Kenilworth Road back in September and it is 45/1 at BetVictor for a similar scenario in south Derbyshire.

Both teams should score and let’s hope it’s in a 3-1 win for Town at 30/1.

Nine points and 11 places in the League Two table separate the Hatters from the last play-off place and they are out to 16/1 for a top seven finish.

With two very winnable looking home games on the horizon against Notts County and Yeovil perhaps that is too big.
