Anderson at the double for Rovers

Southern League Division One Central: Barton Rovers 3 Beaconsfield SYCOB 0.

Two goals from Keshi Anderson secured Barton Rovers a well-deserved win over Beaconsfield in a one-sided contest at the weekend.

Despite dominating for long periods, it took Rovers 76 minutes to break the deadlock as Kim Forsythe rose highest to head across goal for Connor Vincent to slot home at the back post.

Within a minute of the restart, Barton thought they had made it 2-0 only to have their celebrations cut short by the referee.

With Beaconsfield pushing for a leveller, Rovers did have a second when a loose ball was tapped into the bet by Anderson.

The hosts looked for a third as they were denied by some brilliant saves from Sam Bunting.

Barton did find the net again though with two minutes left as Forsythe’s wonderful overhead volley produced an equally good stop from Bunting, only for Anderson to convert the rebound.

The result lifts Barton to 12th in the table and they are at home to Northwood tomorrow evening.
