Athletic suffer extra time cup final defeat

With Baldock failing to break the deadlock as well, the game then went into extra time with the first period also ending in stalemate.

Just as it looked like penalties would be needed, with four minutes to go, Baldock sent the ball into the box and in an attempt to clear, a Kent defender unluckily deflected it into his own net.

Despite the defeat, Kent can still reflect on what has been a fine season, winning the Molten Spartan League SML Division Two title.
