Barton Rovers’ third successive away game ended in a hefty defeat as they were hammered by Kings Langley on Saturday.

After beating both Godalming Town and Hanwell on their travels, hopes were high for the visitors, but struggling with injuries, they had a youthful side once more.

Langley took the game to Barton from the off, as Connor Toomey made it 1-0 after 16 minutes, before the second arrived midway through the half when Mitchell Weiss slotted past Kyle Forster.

The lively Jordan Davis had an effort saved for Rovers as they grew slightly into the game before the break, although couldn’t reduce the arrears.

Things went downhill for Barton straight from the restart as skipper Paul Andrews’s overhit back pass beat Forster to put through his own goal.

Rovers new boy Chris Wreh gave Barton a flicker of hope three minutes later when his soft attempt was fumbled into the net by keeper Ant Ladyman.
