Barton snap up former Brentford teenager

Barton Rovers have secured the signatures of three highly rated young players ahead of the new EvoStik Southern League Division One Central campaign.

Former Brentford teenager Phil Smeaton, 18, has joined the club after he was impressed by Rovers boss Dan Kennoy.

Smeaton said: “I’m thrilled to have signed.

“This club and Dan have shown a real determination to not just sign me but help me develop as I still have aspirations to become a professional footballer.”

Luton-based George Higley, 18, has signed as has Layne Eadie, also 18, who impressed at the club’s open trials day.
