Barton Rovers’ stumbling season continued on Tuesday evening as they gifted Aylesbury FC a 3-0 win at Sharpenhoe Road.

With a fully fit squad to chose from Barton started brightly and the game was an even affair, as neither goalkeeper were unduly tested in the opening period.

After the break, Barton were a shadow of themselves as a corner saw Kyle Anthony head home unopposed just after the break to give the Moles an easy 1-0 lead on 47 minutes.

Brian Haule doubled the lead with 20 minutes to go as a poorly weighted back pass to home keeper Kyle Forster fell to the visiting striker’s feet to tap home.

Matt Nolan had a great chance to pull one back for Rovers when through one on one with the keeper but he blazed his shot over the bar.

Things went from bad to worse in stoppage time as Jack Keating was adjudged to have bundled over his man in the box for a soft penalty which Haule duly converted.

Barton are at hoem to Chalfont St Peter on Saturday.
