Blues draw a blank at Bideford

Dunstable Town were held to a goalless draw by relegation certainties Bideford in their Southern League Premier Division clash at the weekend.
The home side went into the game, some 16 points adrift at the bottom of the table, although had earned a surprise 2-1 win at Dorchester on Tuesday night.
The visitors had the early chances, Howard Hall’s tame effort easily blocked, while Danny Talbot’s free kick clipped the top of the crossbar.
On a bobbly surface, James Kaloczi and Steve Wales both tried their luck from range, while debutant Jonathan Edwards showed some good early touches.
Bideford had a fre chances of their own, Angus Wilson’s low shot requiring a save from Jamie Head, while Wales’ cunning lob nestled on to the roof of the net.
Still Dunstable looked for an opener as Talbot’s free kick was punched clear, while Zack Reynolds, tried to create opportunities with some runs out of defence.
Connor Calcutt replaced Wales, but it was new signing Edwards who had the best chance, denied a goal by a fantastic save from Kyle Moore
Head made a comfortable stop from Ian Sampson, while Bideford almost grabbed a late winner only for Stephen Reed’s free kick to hit the wall as Dunstable have now failed to score in four of their last five games.
Dunstable are back at home to Paulton Rovers this weekend.
