Blues fall to pre-season defeat against the Ducks

Dunstable Town suffered a 2-1 defeat against Aylesbury United in their latest pre-season friendly on Tuesday night.

The hosts, who had Zack Reynolds and David Kenneyside in the starting line-up, while Anthony Leslie was on the bench, started slowly, falling behind to a well-taken goal by Taylor Collins.

Dunstable responded with some purposeful moves, as Ollie Cole’s cross was cleared, while Adam Watkins sent two shots over.

Matt Nolan thought he had equalised, glancing a fine header into the net, but he was adjudged offside.

Aylesbury then moved further in front just before half time as a swift counter-attack was finished off by Eion Cassey.

After the break, Dunstable were back in the game almost immediately as Watkins’ deflected shot flew into the net, but they couldn’t find a leveller.

The Blues now travel to Ware on Saturday.
