Dunstable Town returned from play-off chasing Truro City with a creditable goalless draw at the weekend.

The visitors had to make enforced chances as David Lynn, Steven Gregory, Danny May and Luke Ruddick all missed out with injury, while new signing David Longe-King made his debut.

Shane Blackett excelled in defence, with the positive influence of Danny Talbot again in evidence as Chris Marsh went close early on, shooting straight at keeper Tom McHale.

A lively Jemale McKenzie-Lowe combined in a couple of decent moves with Charlie Henry, while Chris March headed wide, as did Truro’s River Allen.

Town keeper Charlie May saved well from Isaac Vassell, while in the second period, Cody Cooke had one effort deflected and Vassell was denied by May once more.

For Dunstable, Marsh fired over the bar and McKenzie-Lowe worked hard to forge inroads but was neatly dispossessed.

The hosts then thought they had won a penalty, but Duff was cautioned for simulation and Vassell then found the net, only to his goal chalked out for a foul.

Blackett made an important block from a corner, while the Blues went close in injury time, but McKenzie-Lowe’s effort was weak.
