Dunstable Town fell to an undeserved 2-0 defeat against Leamington in their Southern League Premier Division clash at Creasey Park on Saturday.

The hosts gave starts to new signings Steven Gregory and Jemale McKenzie-Lowe, two players who were with the club last season, plus Victor Osobu, who has joined from Chalfont St Peter.

Dunstable fell behind on five minutes when Lee Moore’s shot was parried by Paul Bastock into the path of Brakes’ Jack Edwards who netted.

From that moment, Dunstable were the more dominant, as McKenzie-Lowe fired over, before Osobu displayed plenty of pace and vigour, while McKenzie-Lowe’s free header was easy for keeper Tony Breeden.

David Keenleyside’s long range shot was tipped behind by Breeden, as he then comfortably held on to Zack Reynolds’ effort.

Leamington still managed to break forward, Rob Ogleby’s forward run stretching the Blues defence, although eventually came to nothing.

Osobu was off target in the last action of the half, while in the second period, he came even closer, denied by the post, as was Keenleyside.

The new signing then came close once more as he took McKenzie-Lowe’s pass in his stride, but failed to get enough height on his effort to chip Breeden.

He was once again denied brilliantly by Weeden late on, before against the run of play, Brakes sub Will Green notched the killer second goal.
