Dunstable Town slipped to their second successive defeat of the season as they were beaten by Histon on Tuesday night.

The Blues made one change from Saturday, with Mason Spence moving to right back and Zack Reynolds on the bench alongside Luke Farthers and Gary Wharton.

Dunstable started well too, as Matt Nolan’s cross was missed by Lorenzo Ferrari, while Danny Talbot almost teed up James Kaloczi.

They were ahead on just six minutes when Adam Watkins sent a square pass to Chris Marsh who cut in for a sumptuous diagonal shot that found the top corner.

The visitors came close to a second as Talbot’s free kick was cleared by Evan Key and Shane Blackett’s effort hit the foot of a post.

However, Histon then came into the game as Jordan Nicholson fired just wide, while Paul Bastock saved from Ryan Auger.

They were level on half an hour from the penalty spot though as Spence conceded the spot kick and Lee Smith beat Bastock with ease.

Dunstable had chances to go back in front from Marsh and Nolan free kicks while David Keenleyside’s fine effort was well stopped by Denzel Gerrar.

Histon responded with shots from Lee Smith and Sam Ives, but they were ahead 10 minutes into the second half when Ives was left unmarked to score.

Dunstable tried to mount a fight back, replacing Ferrari and Charle Smith with Wharton and Farthers, only for the Stutes to add a third late on through Smith.

The Blues travel to Weymouth this afternoon.
