Carney salvages a point for Blues

A stirring comeback in the last 10 minutes saw Dunstable Town fight back from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw against second placed Aylesbury United in front of 159 at Creasey Park on Saturday.

The Ducks took the lead on 53 minutes when an incisive break from midfield enabled Stacey Field to flick home. Seven minutes later the visitors deservedly doubled their lead when Steve Hatch connected clinically with a high cross.

A rib injury forced leading Blues scorer Lee Roache off before Dunstable grabbed a lifeline with 10 minutes to go when substitute Chris Francis finished well.

Town were then awarded a controversial penalty in the third minute of stoppage time and Newman Carney kept his cool to Salvage a point.

This weekend, Dunstable visit Hadley.
