Dunstable showed no signs of their recent exertions as they snared the Hares at Preston Park, but their first goal didn’t arrive until 10 minutes before the interval.

Leon Cashman had already had two fine shots saved by Craig Garrett and Newman Carney seen his free-kick from range tipped before the Blues broke the deadlock.

A fine Cashman header from a Wayne Mills cross forced a corner and Stefan Bailey nipped in to score from Nick Jackson’s assist.

Town doubled their lead on 42 minutes as defender Marc Leach scored his second goal in two games with a powerful header.

Harefield clawed their way back into the game when Sami Kunami scored after 56 minutes, but Dunstable quickly reasserted themselves when Tony Burnett restored their two-goal advantage 10 minutes later.

Dunstable cruising were cruising eight minutes before the end when Burnett scored his second Jackson’s cross and Town completed the scoring just before the end when Danny Hutchins netted following a dreadful defensive clearance from Harefield.

Blues: Head, Mills, Hutchins, Leach (Mead), Pickering, Carney (Buchanan), Cashman, Bailey, Roache (Frater) Jackson, Burnett.
