Crawley Green earn handsome win at Bradwell

Crawley Green claimed a fine 4-0 victory at New Bradwell St Peter in Molten Spartan SML Division One on Tuesday night.

Jamie Warne got the Maroons on their way when he drove through a crowd of defenders to score after two minutes.

Bradwell replied with an effort from Robbie Burns which went just wide after seven minutes, before Green keeper Dean Bull produced a great one-handed save to deny James Atherton.

Vinnie Shrieves headed just off target from Peter O’Donnell’s cross and then turned provider but Robbie O’Dell saw his shot saved by Sam Jay.

A minute later Atherton was put through but Bull denied him again with a tremendous save and Bradwell were made to pay as Crawley doubled their lead.

Denied a penalty and given a free-kick instead, O’Donnell saw justice was done as Jay fumbled his effort into the net after 35 minutes.

Green killed the game off early in the second half as Kyal McNulty handled and Warne smashed in the penalty on 51 minutes. Crawley had a number of chances before O’Dell fired home Warne’s cross (71).

Atherton again went through in the closing stages only to be denied by Bull for a third time.
