Victory over London Colney completed another double for the Blues who are now 34 league games unbeaten.

Town began positively and dominated possession, but despite creating plenty of chances, including Nathan Frater’s free–kick hitting the bar, it took them half an hour before they gained a deserved lead.

Frater was the architect as, rather than shooting from inside the area, he sent a delicate chip to the unmarked Lee Roache who headed home his 48th goal of the season.

Five minutes before half time, elegant combination play ended in keeper Mark Whitmore spilling Roache effort and Tony Burnett tapped in to double their lead.

London Colney tried to get forward in the second half but frequently lost possession as Dunstable defenders Nick Leach and Graeme Buchanan repeatedly cleared.

The third goal came on 71 minutes when a swift attack down the left flank saw Nick Jackson sweep Tony Fontanelle’s telling pass into the bottom left corner.

Dunstable substitute Danny Hutchins had two late shots that brought fine saves as the Blues extended their lead to 16 points lead at the head of the table.

Dunstable’s game at Harefield United on Saturday was postponed and this weekend they entertain Colney Heath.

Blues: Taylor, Mills, Mead (Pickering), Buchanan, Leach, Carney, Fontanelle, Jackson, Roache, Frater (Christie), Burnett (Hutchins). Substitutes not used: Jamie Head.
