Dunstable back on top after Harefield win

Dunstable Town 3 Harefield United O

Dunstable Town retained top spot in the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Harefield United.

Top scorer Lee Roache looked lively and it was from his cross that ex-Hatter Newman Carney opened the scoring on 13 minutes with his first goal for Dunstable.

Town netted a second when Jonathan Cooper got free and his pass was finished by Tony Burnett.

Graeme Buchanan and Chris Francis were introduced in the second half and, although the Hares enjoyed a 10-minute spell of pressure, they were unable to pull a goal back.

Town proceeded to dominate and, after having good shouts for a penalty waved away, scored a third with five minutes to go when Roache’s netted Buchanan’s cross.

This weekend Dunstable go to Barking in the first round proper of the FA Vase.
