Dunstable hammer Hertford to move top

FOR the second successive game Dunstable Town scored five goals away from home and their 5-0 win at Hertford Town propelled them to top of the Molten Spartan SML Premier Division.

The Blues went ahead on nine minutes when Jonathan Cooper found the bottom corner. Lee Roache then poached the second five minutes later, before both Nathan Frater and George Brinkman had goals disallowed for offside.

Cooper notched his second of the afternoon, while it was 4-0 with six minutes of the half left when Roache headed home Peter Holmes’ corner.

Nathan Frater netted in the second period, as Town moved top of the league after previous leaders Royston Town drew at home with Broxbourne Borough.

Dunstable host Harefield United on Saturday and travel to St Margaretsbury in the semi-finals of the Premier Division Cup on Tuesday night.
