Midfielder Raheem, 18, from Luton and goalkeeper Matt Childs, 19, from Dunstable, will now take part in first round of trials for Samsung’s Win A Pro Contract that could see them signed up by Swindon Town, Wycombe Wanderers or Leyton Orient.

Raheem said: “It would mean the world to me and a dream come to true to earn a professional contract.

“I’m quite confident I can win. I’m going to show how hard working I am and give 100 per cent.

“Playing semi-professional football will give me the game time and put me in the condition to go to the trial like a normal training session.”

More than 5,700 players from all over the country entered the competition and the pair have won through to a skills testing session at Goals Soccer Centre in Middlesex on Sunday, October 13.

Childs added: “I’m very pleased. I can’t believe I received an email saying I was going through. I’m confident I’m a very good shot-stopper so I had to go for it.

“It would be a dream come true to win. I’d be speechless but I’ve got the capability of winning.

“It’s hard to get the opportunities in football, but I’m glad I’ve got the chance and hopefully I can go all the way.”
