Dunstable Town’s splendid unbeaten run continued at Cirencester Town as they made it seven league games unbeaten with a terrific performance.

The visitors were without Adam Watkins (injured), as Victor Osobu came in and it was he who opened the scoring after 13 minutes, with a lovely volley from Connor Calcutt’s excellent cross.

Three minutes later in was 2-0 as Calcutt broke away on the left, cut inside and produced a precise finish beyond keeper Glyn Garner.

Dunstable’s Paul Bastock made a simple save from Zac Kotwika’s free kick but the visitors kept on attacking, with the third arriving on 24 minutes as Osobu found David Keenleyside who netted at the second attempt.

Calcutt then rattled the crossbar, while Keenleyside was denied by Garner as Cirencester were forced into a desperate clearance off the line, again from Calcutt.

Adam Pepera came close from inside his own half, with his lob awkwardly put behind by Garnet, although Bastock had to be alert to stop Josh Parsons’ effort.

The second period saw Dunstable in search of more goals, although they were pegged back when Charlie Griffin reduced the arrears on 54 minutes after a long ball forward.

Back came the Blues though, as Gary Wharton’s shot went wide, with Calcutt denied by Garner, but Cirencester kept pushing, as Griffin hit the foot of the post.

With options on the bench, Dunstable brought on Lee Roache and Chris Vardy and it was the latter who made the game safe on 86 minutes, with a well-taken strike.

Roach then bagged his first of the season, eluding the challenge of Aiden Bennett to beat Garner and tap into the empty net.
