Former Brighton team-mate played his part in Walton's move to Luton

Fellow new Luton signing Glen Rea had a big part to play in keeper Christian Walton's move to Kenilworth Road on a season-long loan from Brighton.

The 20-year-old, who was a team-mate of Rea in their time at the Amex Stadium, admitted the Irish U21 international’s glowing praise about the club only heightened his determination to join.

He said: “He said it’s such a big club for this league, the fanbase and the numbers that come and support the team, you just want to do well for them, plus the club is going in the right direction and everyone wants to do well.

Walton also believes that Rea could really hit the heights of his potential while at Luton, adding: “He’s a great player, he’s at that time in his career now where he just needs to get out and play his league games.

“He’s working his way to the top which I think he can definitely do. This year’s going to be a big one for him as well as me, we’re looking forward to it.”
