The wideman has missed the last four games after suffering an ankle injury during the first 20 minutes of Nathan Jones’ opening match in charge against Cambridge United.

However, speaking to the press this afternoon, Jones said: “Danny Green has trained so we’ll see how he is.

“We took a few knocks from the weekend that’s taken its toll on training this week, but hopefully we’ll have a good strong squad to pick from and they’ve trained well this week, we’ve had a productive week.”

With Green now back in training, it leaves Jones with only Josh McQuoid and Nathan Doyle missing, as the pair both underwent minor knee operations recently.

The boss added: “Those are the ones that are not near this week, it’s going to be a little bit of time for them as they’re recovering, both making very good progress but will be a similar time.

“So we’ll get them back sooner rather than later, but it’s too soon at the minute.”
