AFC Dunstable pulled off a shock 1-0 win over Dunstable Town in the Beds Senior Challenge Cup quarter-final on Tuesday night.

Former Blues striker Jermaine Hall netted the only goal of the game as his side continued their superb cup form, having already knocked out Luton Town.

Dunstable striker Connor Calcutt then headed off target, before Town defender Zack Reynolds’ goal-line clearance kept the scores goalless.

However, moments before half time, AFC had what proved to be the only goal of the game when Jason Beck’s corner was squeezed into the net by Hall.

After the break, Chris Vardy’s run and shot was easily gathered by Malone, as BJ Christie then did well to turn and shoot, although it went wide.

Vardy looked like he was going to level the scores only to be denied by a magnificent tackle from Courtney Massey.

Blues then threw on Lee Roache, Victor Osobu and Jemale McKenzie-Lowe, with AFC introducing Josh Humbert and Nathan Frater.

Osobu looked like he might make a difference, although the visitors’ Charlie Gorman sent a shot wide of Paul Bastock’s goal.

Brandon Carney’s effort was deflected wide, but Dunstable’s best chance saw Osobu’s corner headed just wide by Luke Pennell.
