Hatters are no match for Cherries U21s

Luton Town were beaten 2-0 by AFC Bournemouth U21s in their Final Third Development League clash played at Hitchin Town this afternoon.

Goals either side of the interval from Jon Muleba and Brandon Goodship ensured the Cherries took victory over a Hatters side who included Danny Green, Jonathan Smith and Paul Benson.

Town keeper Liam Gooch had to save early on from Keelan O’Connell, before Benson’s header went wide for the hosts.

Bournemouth had the lead just before the break as Matt Butcher’s 25-yard free kick was headed across goal for Muleba to score.

The visitors doubled their lead after the restart when Goodship fired a sublime finish into the top left corner.

Hatters tried to mount a fight back, with long distance strikes from Isaac Galliford and Alex Atkinson ensuring that Marius Adamonis was kept on his toes, but the Cherries keeper was equal to both efforts as Bournemouth held on for victory.
