Hatters boss Nathan Jones isn't sure if winger Danny Green will feature for the club this term.

The 28-year-old has missed the entire campaign after suffering a broken leg against Northampton in April 2016.

When asked if the former Dagenhan & Redbridge and Charlton wideman might pull a Luton shirt on before the season is out, Jones said: “He’s had a bad injury and certain complications meant we had to revisit the injury again.

“What we’re doing again is slowly taking it as it’s not just for now, we’re trying to get him back now to play in the next month or whatever it is, it’s for his long term future.

“So what we’ve got to do is make sure we do all the due diligence with Danny and then get him back as quickly and as safely as possible, but the key word in that is safely.

“We’re not putting anything (timescale) on it, same with Cameron (McGeehan).

“Cameron’s making wonderful progress, but it’s too early to gauge whether fans will see him or not.

“What we’re saying is both are making progress, one slightly slower than the other, but we don’t take any gambles as at the end of the day these are players careers.”
