Hatters rated v Barnet

Jonathan Mitchell: 7.5 - Keeper did well in difficult conditions, particularly first half to help out his defenders as he came off his line for crosses whenever possible to alleviate the pressure.

Stephen O’Donnell: 6.5 - Mixed opening period as some decent passes were interspersed with heavy touches. Always eager to burst forward though as Luton went in search of a leveller during the latter stages.

Alan Sheehan: 7 - Switched to left back and looked just as composed as ever, relishing the chance to get up and down the flank, while putting in some good deliveries too.

Scott Cuthbert: 6.5 - Had stood up well to the height and power of Akinde through the afternoon, especially from set-plays in a swirling wind. Spoiled it rather though with bizarre handball that led to Barnet’s penalty at the very death.

Magnus Okuonghae: 6.5 - Like Cuthbert, he had kept out the best Barnet could quite literally throw at them in the first half. Unlucky not to get a foul for a high foot in the build-up for the Bees’ opening goal.

Jonathan Smith: 6 - Early booking for a rash challenge meant he had to be careful snapping into future tackles. Few passes went astray as Luton tried to get things going during a tough first half and made way shortly after the break.

Glen Rea: 6.5 - Had to have his wits about him to win the second balls as Barnet went long, but more than happy to put his foot in and do the dirty work. Denied his first Town strike by a crucial goal-line clearance.

Cameron McGeehan: 6.5 - Quieter game than usual with the Bees often bypassing the midfield, but kept going and continued his trait of being in the right place at the right time to smash home a 13th of the season, moving level with Marriott once more.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu: 6.5 - Struggled to get going in the first half but started to go through the gears as the game progressed and got in some advanced positions, with a lovely backheel to Green setting up the leveller.

Paul Benson: 6.5 - Recalled striker had a tough hour’s work as up against the imposing Barnet centre halves, who used every trick in the book to prevent him ever really getting much joy from them.

Jack Marriott (STAR MAN): 7.5 - Always on the shoulder of the last defender and his pace and willingness helped Luton get up the pitch. Thought he had levelled on the hour but desperately tight offside flag denied him goal number 14.

Paddy McCourt (SUB): 7.5 - Quite the impact from the Northern Irishman who grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck as he made things happen, often dazzling the Barnet defence with his footwork.

Danny Green (SUB): 6.5 - Lovely first time cross led to McGeehan’s equaliser but far too casual with late chip that might have won it.

Joe Pigott (SUB): 6 - Came on to try and help Hatters get back in the game and had one good sight of goal for victory only to fire wide.
