Hatters rated v Plymouth Argyle

Jonathan Mitchell: 7 - One fine save didn't count as officials awarded a goal kick, but his handling was top notch once more. Kicking a little bit off throughout as found touch a number of times.

Stephen O’Donnell: 7.5 - Another impressive showing from O’Donnell, none more so when he held his position to prevent a four on one Argyle attack. Burst forward and with a cooler head, might have notched too.

Dan Potts: 7.5 - Put in a good defensive shift and his quality when in possession showed, particularly in the first half. Shame to see ankle injury curtail his afternoon and hopefully it’s not too serious.

Scott Cuthbert: 8.5 - Captain excelled once more, clearing his lines with regularity and cajoling his back-line throughout. Has really come into his own since Jones took over.

Alan Sheehan: 8 - Had been a huge doubt as needed a late fitness test, but never looked in any trouble throughout, even when he had to move over to left back for the latter stages.

Glen Rea: 6.5 - Immediate debut for the Brighton youngster as he replaced the injured Olly Lee. Snapped into his tackles on a tough surface and might have netted a debut goal too.

Jonathan Smith: 6.5 - Came into his own after the break with Luton under the cosh territory-wise. Put in heaps of effort as he shut down his Argyle counterparts

Cameron McGeehan: 6.5 - Plenty of work defensively this time as he had to contain the hosts’ midfielders. Still found time to break forward though and support Luton’s attack too.

Paddy McCourt: 7.5 - Driving run and splendid vision to pick out Marriott for the game’s only goal as appears to be flourishing under Jones. Unfortunate to be forced off through injury.

Jack Marriott: 8 - Looked like he relished playing alongside Benson’s added height in Luton’s front-line. Did superbly to find space in the area and finish off McCourt’s excellent pass.

Craig Mackail-Smith: 6 - Afternoon came to a premature end as he picked up what looked like an ankle injury and couldn’t continue.

Paul Benson (SUB): 7.5 - On a lot earlier than expected after Mackail-Smith injury but gave his all and proved an excellent partner for Marriott, with some excellent link-up play.

Danny Green (SUB): 6.5 - Put a shift in on the right hand side, but his crossing, particularly in the closing stages was disappointing, often picking out McCormick.

Magnus Okuonghae (SUB): 7 - On for the crucial final 20 minutes as Plymouth bombarded Hatters’ area but stood firm.
