Hatters rated v Stevenage

Stephen O’Donnell: 6 - Motored down the right hand side whenever he could, often leading the charge for Luton, but end product wasn’t quite there as Town struggled to create enough clear-cut chances.

Alan Sheehan: 6 - Started out at left back once more and was one of a few who came out of the game with any credit. Desperately unlucky to see his curling effort cannon against the bar as could have been a different game had that gone in.

Glen Rea (STAR MAN): 6 - In his preferred centre half role and looked a good fit as he was dominant aerially against the Boro attackers, ensuring Hatters were never unduly troubled defensively.

Scott Cuthbert: 6 - Kept Stevenage quiet for the majority and looked solid throughout, with one fine bit of defending leading to a muscle tweak which ended his game with 30 minutes to go.

Jonathan Smith: 4.5 - Struggled for large periods as too often took the easy option and went backwards or sideways rather than look up and try to put Luton on to the front foot.

Olly Lee: 6 - One of the better players out there as at least tried to get Luton moving with a number of good passes to either flank. Poor error to give the ball away in the build-up to the spotkick, but was hugely unlucky to be penalised as Kennedy threw himself to the floor.

Cameron McGeehan: 5.5 - Very quiet for the opening 70 minutes and as is always the case, came into the game more when McCourt had gone off. Could well have had goal number 14 had Marriott spotted him.

Paddy McCourt: 5.5 - Didn’t really get into the game as he has done in the past few games, as enjoyed a few bright moments with the ball at his feet, but precious little else. Subbed early on for Green this time.

Jack Marriott: 5.5 - Nothing really came off the for striker on this occasion as he was well marshalled by ex-Hatter Wilkinson. Got a few shots off, but missed a glorious chance late on when faced with Jones, as McGeehan was screaming for the tap-in.

Joe Pigott: 4.5 - Given his chance upfront alongside Marriott but didn’t take it at all. Constantly beaten in the air and never once looked like opening his account for the club. Disappointed so far.

Danny Green (SUB): 4 - Half an hour that the winger will want to forget as time after time his usually excellent delivery was over-hit or straight out of play.

Josh McQuoid (SUB): 5 - Great chance to score with one of his first touches but couldn’t connect with a diving header.

Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu (SUB): 6 - In at right back due to injury and impressed during his late cameo, always looking to bomb forward.
