Henman earns Town ladies a point against MK Dons

Luton Town Ladies picked up their first South East Womens Combination League points of the season with a 1-1 draw at MK Dons on Sunday.

The first period showed Town had tightened up their leaky defence as when Dons did break clear, Hollie Staples pushed the shot on to the bar and Michelle Byrne cleared the rebound.

A 20-yard volley from Jess McKay flew just wide, but five minutes before the break, Town were ahead when the MK keeper made a hash of a cross and when Zara Carroll’s shot was blocked, Nicola Henman followed up to score.

The lead lasted only four minutes though as MK equalised on the stroke of half time.

The second half was a very open affair and both sides were grateful for last ditch defending as either side could have grabbed the winner.
