Hylton: It's a 12 game season now
The club’s leading scorer bagged a brace as Hatters won 4-0 at Yeovil Town on Saturday, to move within a point of third place Carlisle United, who lost for third game running, beaten 2-0 by Plymouth.
Town then saw that gap to the top three extended by a point, after Portsmouth triumphed 2-0 at Crawley in the week, dropping Nathan Jones’ side to fifth, but they could leapfrog both sides if results go their way this weekend.

“We know we’re going to fight for every single three points that we can. Likewise the other teams above us and around us will do the same.
“It’s down to a 12 game season now, forget everything else that’s gone before and we’ll give it our all.”
Standing in Luton’s way on Saturday is the division’s in-form team in Stevenage, who have won seven out of their last eight matches.

Town also visit Carlisle on Tuesday night, as Hylton continued: “They had a good result winning 3-0 (against Notts County), but these are the games, if we lose or win it, they’re not going to decide whether we’re in the automatics or not.
“Mentally it might give you a little bit of an edge though, so we’ll go into the game looking to win.”
Team-mate Glen Rea is also looking for his side to go up without requiring the play-offs and was delighted to see there was no lasting affect from the disappointment of Wednesday’s Checkatrade Trophy semi-final defeat to Oxford United.

“We’ll try and win every game, then lets see where we end up at the end of the season, hopefully it’s promotion.”
Meanwhile, Hylton wasn’t fussed where his side finished in the top three positions, as long as that’s where they end up, adding: “I couldn’t care if we come first, second or third.
“If we get in the automatics then I’m delighted. If we finish third, I’ll celebrate the same way I would if we finish first. I’m not too bothered.”

The striker won an online poll against Wycombe Wanderers’ Adebayo Akinfenwa, Stevenage’s Matt Godden, Exeter City’s David Wheeler, Notts County’s Jon Stead and Mansfield Town’s Shaq Coulthirst.
