The 24-year-old had started the last 13 games for Luton since being brought back into the fold by caretaker boss Andy Awford after John Still left the club.

However, he missed Saturday’s 1 -0 win at Leyton Orient as Dan Potts came in for his first start since October and on his absence, Jones said: “Jake got injured the other day which was a real big blow for us as Jake’s been doing quite well, fitting into what we were doing.

“He’s picked up a little knee injury that we’re going to get scanned on Monday and we’re waiting for results on.

“It’s a little bit unfortunate, but Pottsy came in for his first start in a little while, first start under myself.

“He was unfazed, I thought he did very very well, apart from cramp at the end, thought he would have had 90.”
