Jones happy with his evolving Hatters
Luton could have been accused during the earlier stages of the campaign of sticking with their possession based style of football, to their detriment at times, unable to break teams down who had set up to defend against them.
However, Jones, to his credit, clearly noticed that was becoming an issue, and has since taken steps to rectify that, making Town a threat against any style of opposition they come up against.

“So we’ve had to evolve as a team and we’ve tried that through different shapes and so on.
“Now we’ve had a different dimensions to our game and it’s brought fruition. So whatever sides want to do to us, if they want to come back and sit back and sit in, absolutely no problem from our point of view because we have different ways of winning games and we’ve proved that.
“I’m pleased with where we are as a squad and a team, pleased with where we are educationally and we’re proving we can do what we need to do.”

Meanwhile against Hartlepool on Tuesday night, they went direct a lot earlier and it paid dividends, particularly with Luke Gambin’s goal, the midfielder pouncing after the visitors defence failed to deal with a ball over the top.
Jones added: “We’ve done something in recent weeks that we haven’t done before in terms of our play, in terms of having a new dimension, having a different dimension to our team.
“That’s not from Ollie Palmer, that’s different stuff we’ve done. We’ve concentrated on different things that have brought us fruition actually, so it’s about educating.

“That’s what we’ve had and that’s been the really pleasing aspect of it and have had to go over that with them to make sure they’re still believing in that.”
