Despite Hatters’ picking up nine points during the month and remaining unbeaten, Sarll was handed the gong after his side took 16 points from six matches, scoring 14 goals and conceding just five.

George Burley, who chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel, said: “It was an impressive month for Stevenage remaining unbeaten, winning five and drawing one of their matches.

“Their impressive goal difference has taken them into the play-off positions and I’m sure Darren has enjoyed his team’s performances in February.”

Jones, who was also up against Morecambe’s Jim Bentley and Nott County’s Kevin Nolan for the award, added: “If you’re nominated for anything like that then the whole club must be doing something right as it’s not just you.

“It’s always nice to be nominated and to come through the difficult month we have unbeaten was a good haul, but we want to to do the same this month.”
