Jones not expecting any more signings unless it's the right one

Hatters boss Nathan Jones isn't expecting to add to his squad ahead of the transfer window shutting at the end of the month, unless the right player becomes available.

The Luton chief made eight additions over the summer, bringing in the likes of Danny Hylton, Glen Rea and Jordan Cook, and with no further signings, loan or permanent, allowed, after Wednesday, August 31, Jones said: “It won’t be dramatic as we managed to do our business quite early and we’re happy with the squad we’ve got.

“If someone becomes available that would really improve our squad then there might be scope, but at the minute I don’t envisage anyone coming in.

“We did good business in the summer and we’re very happy with that, now it’s just about keeping everyone fit.”

Jones also confirmed that he wasn’t looking to loan out any of the younger players within Town’s squad, especially with the club in the middle of a hugely congested fixture period.

He continued: “The likes of Tyreeq (Bakinson) and so on, they’re part and parcel of our squad and they’ll be used with us, they’ll get games with us,

“With the mad amount of games coming up, they’ll get minutes and get their opportunities and that’s why we’ve got them here.

“If we didn’t we’d be looking to bring others in, but they’re good enough to play, so we’ll look to use those.”

Jones is still looking to move defenders Magnus Okuonghae and Mark O’Brien out of the club though, as he added: “We’ve had a few enquiries and they are available.

“They’re keeping fit, they’re training well, they’re good lads, it’s just nothing has come about yet.”
