Luton will bring the curtain down on what has been an ultimately disappointing season that had promised so much in the summer.

However, Jones now wants his players to send the fans home happy and wanting to return to Kenilworth Road next term.

He said: “We’d like to, we put a lot of importance on winning games week in week out, so we haven’t really changed in anything we’ve done.

“Maybe we should as our win rate here (Kenilworth Road) isn’t as it should be. I think at times our performance level have been excellent and we want a performance, we want a workrate, we want the fans to go away and think ‘okay we’re looking forward to come back next year.’

“Even though it will be a different time next year, a different start after pre-season but it’s always nice to finish on a high and we’re looking to do that, because i want to finish as a high.”

The visiting Grecians, under long serving boss Paul Tisdale, are one of the best footballing sides in the division, so Jones hopes it will be a good spectacle, as he added: “I hope so, they’re a good footballing side, we pride ourselves on now developing into good footballing side.

“Paul’s been there for years, one of the longest serving. He has a real good way about him, I like him, I get on with Paul very well, I know him from the west country roots.

“I don’t think I’m as well dressed as him at times, he’s a good character, a good manager and shown a lot of loyalty there. But he also has had a lot of continuity, so they are a dangerous side, we’re wary of that but we’re looking forward to the game.

“Hopefully it’s one of those end of season games in terms of weather, in terms of crowd, but what we don’t want it to be is one of those end of season lacklustre games and we won’t be turning up for one of those.”
