The Hatters are due to send a young side to Creasey Park, although senior pros Mark O’Brien, Andy Parry, Curtley Williams and Matt Robinson could all feature.

Meanwhile, Dunstable hammered near neighbours Arlesey Town 5-2 in their penultimate pre-season friendly on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead with a glorious finish from David Keeneyside after just three minutes, as he hammered home a thunderbolt of a volley.

Arlesey were level with a spectacular strike of their own though, with Vassey netting from range, before the Blues took control, as Stewart Talbot and Matt Nolan both went close.

Dunstable’s second did arrive midway through the half though when Lorenzo Ferrari showed dogged persistence to set up Nolan who netted with a free header.

It should have been 3-1 when Keeneyside’s measured cross was somehow missed from all of a yard by Shane Blackett, while Ferrari saw his spirited effort blocked, as did Charlie Smith.

Dunstable’s dominance was underlined just before the half hour mark, when Nolan scored his second, Zack Reynolds the provider.

Nolan and Plowright could have made it four before half time, while Talbot saw his free kick saved.

In the second period, Dunstable made it 4-1 as Blackett converted Keeneyside’s corner, while Arlesey pulled one back as Jordan Appleton netted, before Town completed the rout late on.
