LOAN WATCH: King makes Sandgrounders debut in Maidstone defeat

Hatters keeper Craig King made his National League debut for Southport during their 4-2 defeat at Maidstone on Saturday.

The Sandgrounders had moved ahead through Ben McKenna’s goal, before former Hatter Joe Pigott set up Jamar Loza (38) to equalise.

Loza then scored from the spot to put the hosts in front on the stroke of half time, as Southport were level early in the second half through Jamie Allen.

Pigott, who joined Maidstone loan from Cambridge in January, bagged his third goal in seven appearances to make it 3-2 on the hour, while Kevin Lokko netted 10 minutes later as Southport sunk to the bottom of the table.

Defender Frankie Musonda’s first start for Braintree Town also ended in defeat, as they lost out 2-1 at home to Wrexham.

The Iron made the perfect start, leading through Michael Cheek’s first minute goal, but Wrexham equalised when Ntumba Massanka scored just three minutes later.

Oliver Shenton netted just after the hour mark as the Red Dragons claimed the points.

Striker Craig Mackail-Smith played 90 minutes for Peterborough as they were beaten 1-0 at Bradford City in League Two.

The forward is yet to get off the mark in his eight appearances since joining Posh on loan in January as former Town loanee Alex Gilliead had the full game for the Bantams.

Fellow striker Josh McQuoid came off the bench for the final four minutes as Stevenage eased past Notts County 3-0 in League Two.

Keeper Liam Gooch had his first start for Kettering as they went down 3-2 at Weymouth in the Southern League Premier Division.

He was beaten by another former Town striker Stuart Fleetwood on 14 minutes, before the Poppies led 2-1 though Brett Solkhon (21) and Fleetwood’s ex-Luton team-mate Aaron O’Connor (26).

However, the Terras levelled when Jordan Copp converted a penalty (57) and then Stephane Zubar won it with three minutes to go.

U18s defender Harry Bean also had 90 minutes for Dunstable Town as they lost 1-0 to leaders Chippenham Town in the same division.
