Barton Rovers enjoyed a superb FA Cup second qualifying round win at Ryman Premier League side Margate on Saturday.

The visitors went close early on through Paul Andrews, before winning a penalty on 36 minutes after Keshi Anderson was felled, with Kevin Kilroy netting from the spot.

After the break, Margate levelled when Chalie Allen scored, but Barton hit back as Louis Lee’s turn and shot nestled into the top corner.

The visitors had chances to win it but both Tony Burnett and Anderson were denied late on.

It mattered not as they pocketed £4,500 for the victory and now await this morning’s third qualifying round draw.

Rovers: Forster, Vaughan, Condon, Gatti, Andrews, Reynolds, Kilroy, Lee (Sawyer 70), Bennett, Anderson, Brown.

Subs: Hassan, Ottaway, Vincent, Fulton, Terry, Mcdevitt.

Attendance: 638.
