Cambridge United are the visitors to Kenilworth Road on Saturday and there must be a chance that the U’s may have one eye on next week’s money-spinning trip to Old Trafford for their 4th round FA Cup replay.
They were pegged back by Dagenham & Redbridge midweek and that must go down as a missed opportunity as the U’s try and make the play-offs.
The Hatters’ objective remains automatic promotion and they were the better side against Cheltenham last weekend but couldn’t make their superiority count against Paul Buckle’s side on a dreadful playing surface.
Town exited the FA Cup in the third round at the Abbey Stadium earlier in the month but are looking to do the league double over the U’s having won the reverse fixture back in September when Mark Cullen scored the only goal of the game.
The Hatters are 9/10 for the win at BetVictor with the visitors 18/5 and the draw 13/5; you couldn’t blame the Cambridge side if they did have one eye on Old Trafford and this looks an excellent opportunity for John Still’s side to maintain their promotion push.
Town are 9/2 for the League Two title behind Shrewsbury (6/4) and Burton (4/1) with Wycombe 5s also in the mix.
Luton are 4/7 to be playing League One football next term but there is no room for complacency and Richard Money would like nothing better than to dent a hole in Town’s promotion push, whilst also breathing new life into Cambridge’s hope of back-to-back promotions.
John Still was on hand to watch Luke Guttridge’s latest game on the road to recovery midweek when Town spanked Stotfold 5-0 in the Beds Senior Cup midweek.
His return to the first team squad will be a big boost to the Club.
Cullen is 9/2 to score the opening goal and 13/8 to score at anytime during the 90 minutes. We bet 17/5 that Town win and both teams find the back of the net but the recommendation must be the 2/1 for Luton to lead at half-time and full-time.
