All the odds as Hatters host Exeter

The battle for promotion in League Two remains competitive with Burton dropping points when hosting Stevenage midweek and wins for Wycombe and Shrewsbury closing the gap on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side to three points at the top of the table.

There are plenty of sides struggling for form at the business end of the season however none more so than Luton Town, who extended their losing streak to six on the bounce after the weekend’s bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat at Northampton.

All three looks sure to fill out the three automatic spots however there’s plenty to play for entering the final six weeks of the season remaining.

Hatters boss John Still must seldom believe what has happened to his side, that were odds-on to secure back-to-back promotions just six weeks ago but now eased to 9/1 (from 5s) with BetVictor.

The defeat at Northampton saw Luton drop out of the play-off places for the first time since September and BetVictor have eased the Hatters to 13/8 (from 4/6) to finish amongst those in the top seven come the end of the season.

Luton need points, and quickly, if they are to move back into the top seven and have an excellent opportunity to make inroads over the Easter holidays with two essentially must-win fixtures against Exeter and Tranmere respectively.

The Hatters host Exeter at Kenilworth Road on Good Friday with the visitors potentially leap-frogging them with a win however that looks the most unlikely of results should it indeed occur; Luton even money favourites with BetVictor to claim three vital points, the visitors 13/5 and the draw 12/5.

After a strong start to the season, and a good turnaround winning three of their last five, Exeter have been unable to build on early promise and have struggled in 2015.

Luton look to have the perfect opportunity to make amends appealing at 9/4 to win the game to nil and 10/1 to win the game by the 2-0 correct score.

Should Luton claim three points at the Grecians’ expense on Friday, then it should set up a fascinating contest at Prenton Park; Luton unsurprisingly the 8/5 favourites with BetVictor for Easter Monday’s clash, the hosts’ 7/4 and the draw 23/10.
