All the odds as Hatters host Mansfield

Luton suffered yet another dramatic defeat, losing 3-2 to Notts County at the weekend as Liam Noble’s injury-time winner ensured Ricardo Moniz’s side gained all three points at Meadow Lane.

It was yet another example of the Hatters throwing away points late on and BetVictor have eased them to 11/2 (from 4s) to achieve promotion and 25/1 (from 20s) to be crowned champions.

Manager John Still was quoted as saying: “When you score two goals away from home should get you something from the game, but our defending is disappointing.”

That’s ultimately been the Hatters downfall this term. Town are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding in each of their 10 games in all competitions in an almost unthinkable turnaround from their iron-clad defences over the previous two campaigns.

The fixture list luckily smiles kindly on the Hatters over the next month or so with Mansfield and Wimbledon visiting Kenilworth Road over the next two weekends and away days at Morecambe and Hartlepool thereafter.

BetVictor make the Hatters 23/20 favourites when hosting Mansfield on Saturday, the visitors 13/5 and the draw 5/2 but difficult to envisage anything bar a comfortable home success.

The Stags beat Crawley 4-0 at the weekend and are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions but have yet to come up against any serious promotion challengers in that time and should be brought down to earth accordingly in front of a partisan home faithful.

Luton are 15/8 to keep a first clean sheet of the campaign, however with defensive frailties remaining, warrant supporting at 7/2 with BetVictor to win and both teams to score.

The Hatters are 9/1 to win by the 2-1 correct score and 20/1 to beat the Stags 3-1 with marginal preference for the latter at the prices.
