All the odds as Hatters host Stanley

Luton remain on the cusp of the automatic promotion places in League Two however back-to-back defeats at Mansfield and AFC Wimbledon respectively have dented their claims, with the ‘big three’ hardening as odds-on favourites to go up.

Luton went down by the solitary goal at Mansfield, ending the Hatters’ run of 10 league games without defeat and the subsequent loss at Kingsmeadow saw John Still’s side fall four points behind Burton, Shrewsbury and Wycombe in the automatic promotion places.

BetVictor have eased Luton even money to be playing League One football next term, from 1/2 prior those two defeats, as the prospect of promotion via the play-offs appears increasingly likley.

The Hatters have fallen nine points behind the Brewers at the top of the table and subsequently eased to 12/1 (from 9/2) to be crowned champions with BetVictor; Shrewsbury the even money favourites just three points behind Burton but with a game in hand.

As the prices reflect, those occupying the automatic promotion spots are odds-on for promotion almost by default however there’s plenty of football left to play with 14 games left of the season remaining.

With the exception of Wycombe and Burton’s visit to Kenilworth Road the fixture list reads kindly and Luton are fancied to bounce back to winning ways when hosting Accrington on Saturday.

The visitors have recovered from a slump in the New Year and are now unbeaten in their last three games including turning over Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s top of the table Burton 1-0 midweek.

Despite their run Stanley have arrive as massive underdogs and are 7/2 to leave Kenilworth Road with all three points, Luton the 17/20 favourites with BetVictor and the draw 13/5.

Luton came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Accrington in the reverse fixture back in August and despite that appealing to some at the price of 20/1, the hosts are fancied to win and win well.

The foundation of this season’s success has come courtesy of a rock-solid defence and despite keeping just one clean sheet in their last six games, Luton are fancied at 5/4 to shut out the visitors and 15/8 with BetVictor to win the game to nil.
