All the oods as Hatters host Tranmere

Luton Town made it through to the second round of the FA Cup beating Newport County 4-2 in a thrilling cup tie at Kenilworth Road last weekend.

The Hatters were rewarded with a trip to Gigg Lane to face fellow League Two outfit Bury; both clubs 2000/1 and 3000/1 (from 4000s) to lift the trophy aloft at Wembley in May.

Whilst the winning sequence in League Two ended at seven after the1-1 draw with Exeter the week before, the Hatters are now unbeaten in their last 10 league games and their last six in all competitions.

That sequence looks set to continue when welcoming Tranmere at the weekend; the hosts’ 11/10 favourites with BetVictor, Rovers 13/5 and the draw 5/2.

With the likes of Burton, Portsmouth and Plymouth slipping-up in recent weeks it leaves Luton as the 4/1 second favourites behind the pair of Shrewsbury and Bury respectively; the 3/1 favourites and 7/1 bar the front three.

The visitors arrive fighting for their life and are the 2/1 third-favourites for the drop, surely it looks something of a formality?

Rovers have won their last two games in the FA Cup and Football League Trophy but currently lay second bottom of the table and are winless on the road in their last six league games.

With Wycombe facing fellow top-six outfit Burton, John Still’s side can leap-frog Wanderers and head back to the top of the table in style; 13/5 to win to nil, whilst 10/3 to win and both teams to score.

Luke Guttridge opened the scoring against County, for the second time in four games, and attracts as excellent value to sink Micky Adams’ side on Saturday at 10/1 to score the first goal, 3/1 to score anytime and 18/1 to bag a first brace of the season.
