Amari’s ‘all clear’ after heart scare

NEWLYWED Amari Morgan-Smith has been given the all clear to start training in pre-season after experiencing breathing problems at the end of last term, writes Mark Wood.

The talented attacker was forced to miss the play-off final penalty shoot-out defeat to AFC Wimbledon due to his health concerns that developed during the 4-0 win at Histon on April 25.

Morgan-Smith’s problems were originally linked to his asthma, but there were concerns that the issue could have been greater.

A series of tests followed as he was confined to the sidelines and Town assistant manager Alan Neilson revealed he has been given the go-ahead by the specialist to start his comeback in pre-season.

On what the problem was, Neilson said: “It was a mix of everything.

“All the reports are that Amari had his little heart scare but by the start of the season he should be firing fit with no complications.”
