Benson the only absentee for Hatters as McCourt returns

Striker Craig Mackail-Smith has recovered from the hamstring injury that has seen him be replaced in Luton’s last two games, while Paddy McCourt is back from international duty.

Scott Griffiths is in contention after being rested against York City, leaving only Paul Benson (neck) out, while Stephen O’Donnell is a doubt with his ankle injury.

Speaking to the press this afternoon, Still said: “Craig’s had a couple of niggly injuries, but nothing serious, he’ll be back Saturday.

“He’s fine, he’s trained the last couple of days and could have stayed on on Saturday but he just felt it a bit. We said to him if you feel it come off, it’s nothing terrible and I don’t want it to be terrible.

“Paul is back in full training, he won’t be available for this weekend, but he’ll have a good week’s training this week and then he will be.

“We gave Scott a rest last week, he had a lot going on and we didn’t even include him. We could have played him the other night (Beds Senior Cup), but he’s trained all right, so we’ll have a look at that and decide what we need to do.”

Still also confirmed he might not risk McCourt from the beginning at Crawley, despite the winger impressing recently for the Hatters, after he didn’t play for Northern Ireland in either of their Euro 2016 qualifiers.

The boss He added: “He’s come back and is okay, but I don’t know if I’ll start him on Saturday. He didn’t play (for Northern Ireland) and they don’t train, train so I have to take that into account. But having him there available, that’s a big plus.”
