Blackett extends Town contract

LUTON Town defender Shane Blackett has been awarded a new one year deal with the club despite enduring an injury-ravaged season, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 28-year-old, who has made 39 appearances for Hatters since signing from Peterborough in May 2009 and just seven last season, is desperate to finally achieve his goal of taking Town back into the Football League.

Blackett said: “There was only one thing in my mind really and that was to sign another one (contract).
