Boro’ bear the Brunt

A MASSIVELY strong Luton Town reserve team scored an impressive 4-1 win against Stevenage in the Totesport.com Combination Northern Section at Broadhall Way yesterday, thanks to Ryan Brunt’s hat-trick and an own goal, writes Mark Wood.

Town’s team was packed with first teamers plus trialist striker and former Dutch international Romano Denneboom, while the only other player without a first team appearance to his name to start was keeper Lewis Kidd.

Luton began in lively fashion, Adam Watkins forcing a decent save out of Alan Julian on four minutes and Danny Crow firing the follow-up well over.

But Town did take the lead on eight minutes when Robbie Willmott played a clever ball down the line and Brunt brought a good save out of Julian, only for Harley Kelly to put the ball through his own net.
