Brabin well aware of Watkins star talent

The 20-year-old added to his burgeoning reputation at Kenilworth Road by coming off the bench on Saturday with 15 minutes remaining to net a fine winner.

Watkins has impressed whenever given the opportunity this campaign and Brabin knows the calls to start the midfielder will be even louder now.

He said: “When people see things like that, I know I’m probably making a rod for my own back as people want to see him playing every week.

“I think we’re getting the best out of Adam. Adam’s been fantastic. I think everyone knows what I think of Adam, and I think he’s got a fantastic chance.

“He’s done fantastic when he’s played. I just ask the fans to be a little bit patient with him. I don’t want him to lower those standards. I think he’s getting better and better and I think we’ve got a hell of a player on our hands in the future if we manage him right.”
